European format (e.g., 2.00, 3.50)

UK format (e.g., 1/1, 5/2, 10/3)

US format (e.g., +100, -150, +250)

Win probability as percentage (%)

Understanding implied probability

Implied probability shows what chance of winning is "baked into" the odds. If your estimated probability is higher than the implied probability, you may have found value. Bookmakers add a margin (overround) to ensure profit, so the sum of probabilities for all outcomes exceeds 100%.

Odds format guide

Decimal (European): Total return per unit staked. Example: 2.00 means you get $2 back for every $1 wagered (including stake).

Fractional (UK): Profit relative to stake. Example: 5/2 means you win $5 for every $2 staked (plus your stake back).

American (Moneyline): Positive (+) shows profit on $100 stake. Negative (-) shows stake needed to win $100. Example: +200 wins $200 on $100; -150 requires $150 to win $100.

Why use an odds converter?

Compare odds across bookmakers

Different bookmakers display odds in different formats. If one uses decimal and another uses American, this tool helps you quickly compare to find the best value.

Find value bets

The implied probability shows what the bookmaker "thinks" the chance of winning is. If your own analysis suggests a higher probability, you've potentially found a value bet. For example, if odds imply a 40% chance but you estimate 50%, that's a significant edge.

Understand bookmaker margins

Add up the implied probabilities for all possible outcomes in a market. If they total more than 100% (e.g., 105-110%), the excess is the bookmaker's margin. Lower margins mean better value for bettors.

Learn different formats

Whether you're used to decimal odds (Europe), fractional odds (UK), or American odds (US), this tool helps you get comfortable with all formats and understand how they relate to actual probabilities.
